This study aimed to characterize the profile of scientific production on ethical-political skills that must be specialized in nursing graduation for the professional practice of nurses. This was a bibliometric review of the literature, carried out in the following databases: BDENF, CINAHL, LILACS, SciELO and Scopus; studies published between 2018 and 2022 were recruited, in Portuguese, English and Spanish. 21 articles were selected and the main ethical-political competencies mentioned were morals and ethics. Research has shown that this theme is not consistently highlighted during graduation and studies present other professional competencies in nurses' work, such as clinical competencies. Therefore, it is essential that training centers pay attention to the need to develop ethical-political skills during academic training, based on ethical principles and values. Such skills are essential for successful healthcare assistance, as well as for improving interpersonal relationships at work.
