Venous thromboembolic disease (VTE) is common globally and is one of the leading causes of cardiovascular death. Due to its varied presentations and often fatal outcomes, it is crucial for physicians to master knowledge about VTE for accurate diagnosis and treatment. The COVID-19 pandemic, which began in December 2019, led to a significant increase in VTE cases, contributing to many fatal outcomes. The objective of this work was to develop an educational product based on David Ausubel's theory of meaningful learning, revisited by Marco Antônio Moreira, after an extensive literature review on the topic of VTE. The final result of the research was the creation of an interactive e-book for learning how to manage the disease. The developed e-book will be hosted on the Visme® platform and accessed via the link www.dtev.com.br. In the text, some terms are highlighted so that, when clicked, students can access additional information such as videos, figures, photos, concept maps, and scientific articles. The product was validated by experts in vascular surgery with experience in medical training and applied to final-year medical students. These students answered a questionnaire with objective questions about the disease before and after reading the e-book. Statistical analysis of the data collected before and after reading the e-book demonstrated a statistically significant improvement in student performance on the tests. The objective results corroborate meaningful learning about the topic of VTE.
